About Wildflower Wonder: Discover a World of Wildflowers at Newport Wetlands
Join us for a relaxed family-friendly guided walk in search of the reserve's beautiful summer wildflowers and meadow flora. We'll be on the lookout for a colourful array of plants that thrive across the wetlands. As we explore, you'll learn how to identify different wildflowers, discover the fascinating habitats they depend on, and uncover some surprising botanical stories.
Ever wondered what dittander tastes like? Why bird's-foot trefoil got its name? What on earth is bombweed? Or whether grass vetchling is more pea than grass? We'll reveal the answers as we go.
Whether you're a seasoned botanist or simply curious about the natural world, this relaxed and friendly walk is a chance to slow down, look closely, and experience Newport Wetlands in full bloom.
Comfortable footwear recommended. Bring your curiosity!
