About Creative Unity Network December: Creating tribes

With delivery Partners at Urban Circle Newport. Urban Circle believes that collective wisdom and community development go hand in hand. So with the support of Bectu, Cult Cymru, Equity, The Musicians Union, Writers Guild of GB, and USW Studio as well as Creative Cardiff, Urban Circle Newport is continually building a solidarity network to prepare for new productions in 2024 and beyond.

Our aim is to make diverse creative projects accessible to local people at all skill levels. Facilitating a network that believes in the importance of care in fostering safe working practices for all concerned has been a core aim of the Creative Unity Network.

At Urban Circle Newport, we would love more creatives to get involved and help build a solidarity network, one that wants to learn, have an open mind and radical in how we produce creative projects together. Safe, kind and representative practice is encouraged here where we understand the importance of mental health and wellbeing, especially for creative practitioners in precarious labour situations. We can tell and listen to more authentic stories if we are willing to learn from each other. So we call all storytellers, world builders, and creatives.

Do you work behind the scenes on a screen/stage who want to work in teams and understand the importance of keeping doors open to the next generation of creatives. Are you one of the following: Film & Television/ Digital Media/ Theatre & Stage/ Live Events/ Visual Arts/ Games & Animation/ Education and Training and more...

A networking event will be held on Friday 1st December 6.30pm at 'The Place' in Newport for those who embrace a more social and physical way of connecting. This month's free theme is 'Create a load'. There will be an open panel discussion with three local practitioners offering advice, support and solidarity in this area.
