About Momentwm walking network

Momentwm is a project run by Newport Live to help encourage residents, commuters and visitors in and around Newport to change the way they think about and choose to travel in the city. The project aims to support people to travel more actively and choose travel options that are better for them both physically, emotionally and financially.

The project has a wide offering of walking and cycling based activities including Adult Bike Skills, Fix Your Bike workshops, Couch to 5k walks, Couch to 50k cycling groups and much more. Momentwm will also launch the walking network in March as part of this and sessions are already booking up fast.

Emily Wood is the designated walk leader for these walks and is really excited to get started. “We’ve designed these walks to enable people to make new friends, feel better in themselves and enjoy their local areas” commented Emily who is Newport born and bred herself, and an active fitness professional as well as avid walker. “We’re here to advocate an active lifestyle as well as active travel” added Emily, explaining that each walk takes between 20 and 40 minutes, and is totally free of charge.
