About Iestyn Tyne in conversation with Jon Gower
An evening in the company of poet, musician and author Iestyn Tyne, to celebrate his success in the Wales Book of the Year
Iestyn will be joined by author Jon Gower.
Iestyn Tyne is a writer, musician and editor: he lives in Waunfawr and works from Stiwdio Cadnant in Caernarfon. He is co-founder and co-editor of Cyhoeddiadau'r Stamp, and was appointed Caernarfon Town Poet for 2024-27. Last year, he released Carneddi, a concept album, and his most recent book on the life and work of the poet Prosser Rhys, Y Cyfan a Fu Rhyngom Ni, won the Welsh-language creative non-fiction category at the Wales Book of the Year awards. He was a Future Wales Fellow in 2023-25, and received a Saunders Lewis Memorial Scholarship for 2025-27, allowing him to work on the sequel to Y Cyfan a Fu Rhyngom Ni.
This is a free, bilingual event but booking is strongly advised as there are limited spaces.
We're pleased to launch our programme of pre-festival events, building towards Newport Festival of Words, 19-21 March 2027. This event is the first opportunity to join us as we celebrate great writing and connect readers with remarkable authors.
