About Bridge Walk: Lammas Story Walk - the Garden and the Meadow

Join the Newport Transporter Team and Gwent Storyteller Christine Watkins for a summer circular walk from our developing East Anchorage Garden to the glorious Great Traston Meadows!

To mark the traditional time of first harvest we will gather at the newly established East Anchorage garden at Newport Transporter Bridge to hear the story of Demeter and Persephone amongst the raised wildflower meadow beds.

We’ll then walk to Great Traston Meadows, a traditionally managed grassland on the Wales Coast Path, to hear the tale of Hen Wen and the coming of the golden grain to Gwent. We’ll retrace our steps to conclude our walk back at the garden.
