About Beechwood Stitchers Textile Talk & Charity Morning

This year we are delighted to welcome back Textile Artist and Tutor Angie Hughes who will be giving us a talk on Pattern and how Artists and Designers use pattern in their work.
Angie Hughes is a well-established and accomplished artist who lives and works in Ledbury, Herefordshire. Her artwork is inspired by many themes, especially poetry or text and the natural world, particularly plant forms. She shares her expertise by teaching various textile-related techniques to guilds and groups nationwide. Additionally, her teaching experience extends to countries like Australia, New Zealand and India.
Angie is also an accomplished author, having written a book titled 'Stitch, Cloth, Paper and Paint,' which has earned recognition as a bestseller for Search Press. Her work has been featured in various publications, including Embroidery, Stitch magazine, Cloth Paper Scissors, Quilting Arts, and other well-known publications related to textiles and art.We are thrilled to welcome Angie to Beechwood Stitchers and would be delighted if you could join us.
Angie says:
“Our brains seem trained to see pattern repeats in everyday things. Faces in a Chelsea bun, the seed pattern of a Sunflower, a heart shape in a broken window..... I will talk about these unexpected things, pattern in nature and how Artists and Designers use pattern in their work”.
The doors at the side of the building in Kenilworth Road, will open at 10am. Tea, Coffee and Homemade Cakes will be on sale.
There will also be a selection of stalls including our own very popular Bring & Buy stall and the Beechwood Stitchers Craft Stall, where we sell our work in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
There will also be a small exhibition of Beechwood Stitchers latest work
The talk will start around 10.45am.
Admission £3.00 at the door
All money raised going to the Alzheimer’s Society
