About Art School Wales - Botanical Painting

Learn the art of ‘Botanical Painting’ on a 1½ -day workshop at the Art School Wales dedicated studio opposite St. Woolos Cathedral in Newport, in a safe, welcoming and comfortable workspace for adults to develop their creative skills.
Learn how to create a traditional botanical illustration studying a plant from root to flower and leaf. Working in watercolour and gouache, you will be guided through the process of close observation, accurate colour mixing, delicate layering and fine detail to create a precise and beautifully rendered botanical study. This workshop is ideal for those with some prior watercolour experience or those who attended the earlier botanical illustration workshops, but beginners are very welcome and will be fully supported.
Grab yourself one of the last few spaces. Buffet lunch, not just a workshop but a great day out too. Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.
