About The Great Wetlands Summer Spectacular & Picnic at Newport Wetlands

Spend a summer evening exploring RSPB Newport Wetlands after hours. A packed programme of activities for all ages including both children and adults. Your ticket includes the opportunity to take part in a meadow safari, bug hunting, wildflower wander, nature crafts and more, all led by our friendly team.

As the evening unfolds, gather around the fire pit for marshmallow toasting (weather permitting) before joining a guided sunset bat walk to discover the wildlife that emerges after dark. Whether you're visiting with family or friends, it's the perfect way to experience the wetlands in a different light and enjoy one of our biggest events of the summer.

Accessibility
Most paths at Newport are fully accessible. We have mobility equipment free to hire including electric scooters and manual wheelchairs. Please contact us before booking if you have any questions about the accessibility of the event.

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?
All children under 18, need to be accompanied by an adult.

What else is there to do at Newport Wetlands?
Our Café is open 10am-4pm. You can hire binoculars from the Visitor Centre and we have a car park that is free for RSPB members and £5 per car for non-members for the day.

What do I need to bring?
Dress appropriately for the weather and condition, including sturdy footwear. The reserve is very exposed to the sun, especially during the summer months, please remember to wear sun cream, a hat and bring plenty of water. Bring your binoculars, scope or camera if you have them to help you get a closer look at the wildlife we might see.

Can I bring my dog?
No dogs, except assistance dogs please.
