About Finding Peace of Mind: Talk, Q&A and Discussion
Jonathan Kemp’s Finding Peace of Mind Walk reaches Bristol. Meet him and share your experiences of mental health, wellbeing and neurodiversity.
Diagnosed later in life with bipolar disorder and dyslexia, Jonathan Kemp decided to walk over 2,600 miles around the UK and Ireland this year to raise awareness of mental health issues.
Despite being a rebel and disruptor in his early years, even dubbed a failure at school, Jonathan succeeded as a Metropolitan Police officer, before pushing himself to complete a university degree, inventing a new product and launching his own business. The whole time he was unaware that his bipolar disorder, depression and neurodiversity were shaping his life.
Here, he tells his own story, documented in his book, ‘Finding Peace of Mind’, discussing ways he manages his own conditions, and invites others struggling with mental health to share their own experiences and solutions.
Open to anyone interested in mental health, neurodiversity or wellbeing, including those with lived experience themselves, or those with family members, friends or colleagues living with the conditions. Mental health first-aiders also welcome.
