RSPB Newport Wetlands, West Nash Road, Newport, NP18 2BZ

About Waders, wildfowl and starlings at Newport Wetlands

Autumn at the wetlands is a great time to see wildfowl and waders as they spend their winter with us. From dunlin displays to vast quantities of teal and wigeon covering the mud flats. It is also peak starling murmuration season. We will start the 3 hour walk looking out towards the Severn estuary at high tide and will end by watching the starlings at sunset. The reserve is a beautiful place to be to see the winter wildlife and displays.

Please remember to check the weather and bring warm clothes and waterproofs as it is one of our longer guided walks. Our café will be open for you to enjoy our homemade sandwiches and a hot drinks before your adventure.

Car park charges apply, £5 for non RSPB members, free to members. Members, please remember to bring your RSPB membership cards with you to be checked at the welcome kiosk upon arrival.
