About VE Day Beacon Event

To mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day on Thursday 8 May 2025, celebrations will be held at 7:30pm on the Queen Elizabeth II Playing Field NP19 9ND.

Anthony Stuart-Lloyd former West End star will compere the evening.

The evening will consist of musical entertainment with contributions from:

Gwent Music Community Celtic Group
Gwent Music Brass Ensemble
Anthony Stuart Lloyd – former West End performer
City of Newport Male Choir

The International Tribute will be read, followed by the lighting of the VE Day Beacon.

Bring a chair and picnic to enjoy the celebrations.
