About Summer of Play at Tredegar House

This summer, the seaside comes to Tredegar House. From 19 July to 31 August, National Trust Cymru invites families to dive into an Edwardian-inspired Summer of Play, packed with fun, imagination and a giant sand pit.

Sponsored by Starling Bank, this joyful day out is designed with all ages in mind. Children can build epic sandcastles, dress up in Edwardian seaside fashion, explore colourful beach huts, or let creativity run wild in make-believe play.

Don’t forget to capture the memories and pose in a traditional seaside cut-out or take a family photo on our giant deckchair. Unwind and lose yourself in our sensory tents, filled with gentle, under-the-sea sounds and textures - designed with neurodivergent visitors in mind.

With 90 acres and 500 years of history to explore, it’s a full day of playful nostalgia and new adventures - complete with shady picnic spots to enjoy an ice-cream.

Whether you’re chasing that classic holiday feeling close to home or looking for a fun day out with the family, Tredegar House promises an adventure that will last all summer long.

No pre-booking is required for Summer of Play. Normal admission applies, and National Trust members get free entry and free parking.
