About Special Friend / Inland Murmur

Special Friend is a Paris-based American/French indie rock duo formed in 2018 by Erica Ashleson (drums, vocals) and Guillaume Siracusa (guitar, vocals).

In 2019, they released a self-titled EP recorded in their rehearsal studio in two days, unveiling a singular sound of minimalistic indie-noise-pop, recalling the likes of Yo La Tengo, Duster, and Electrelane.

Their first album “Ennemi Commun” was released in 2021, allowing the band to tour and play at the prominent festivals La Route du Rock, La Cathédrale - Binic, and the Paris Pop Fest 2022 edition.

The duo spent most of 2022 composing and recording their next album, which is due June 30th. An honest, rhythmic and mesmerising brand of modern pop, still in
line with their unique, spontaneous and minimalistic sound.

Joining Special Friend on October 2nd are Inland Murmur!

Inland Murmur are a Cardiff based indie band. Toby and Hannah, who front the band, grew up in rural Carmarthenshire and take a huge amount of inspiration from the Welsh landscapes of home.

Their music treads a line from ambient nostalgia to indie crunch. The band formed in London, but quickly relocated to Cardiff. Their previous singles ‘Icarus’ , ‘Waterline’ and 'Freshwater' received BBC Radio play from Adam Walton and were featured on a number of blogs including ‘Get in Her Ears’ , ‘When the Horn Blows’ and 'Mystic Sons'.

'Glimpses Through Trees’ is Inland Murmur’s fourth single and was recorded in the depths of Pembrokeshire. Working with Owain Jenkins at StudiOwz the band have crafted a track full of indie sounds that reflects on the nature of South Wales and the uncertainty of starting a new chapter in their life.
