About D-DAY 80TH ANNIVERSARY BEACON EVENT

On Thursday 6 June 2024, Newport City Council will join the United Kingdom and overseas territories to light a beacon to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

The Beacon will be built on the Queen Elizabeth II Field in Ringland which is accessible from Edward German Crescent.

Performances will be held by Gwent Music Brass Ensemble and the Celtic Group, Newport Male Voice Choir and Newport Cathedral Choir

Please come along and bring a picnic to this free event !
