About Career Out of Joy Workshop: Creating About Pleasure After Pain

December 5th 10am-12pm

Riverfront, Kingsway, Newport NP20 1HG and online

Career Out of Joy Workshop: Creating About Pleasure After Pain – Creatives centering, pleasure in eco-systems focussed on our struggle.

Join us for an inspiring in-person event at The Riverfront, Kingsway, Newport, UK, and online via Zoom. Everyone who signs up will get a recording.

This workshop is all about finding joy in your career after going through difficult times.

We’ll consider working as artists and creatives and ask:

Where is the appetite for our stories? How do we discern what’s ours to share and ours to protect?
What can we draw on to begin writing about joy in a world that dismisses our pleasure?
How can we centre our joy when we’re only asked about our pain?
How can we write both pain and joy in a trauma-informed way?
Discover how to work as an artist and centre joy, even in the midst of these troubled times.

Everyone who signs up will get access to a recording after the event.

When you sign up, you’ll also get updates from Grace Quantock’s Postcards From The Margins newsletter and from Riverfront Arts Centre but you can unsubscribe at any time. Your data is protected and we comply with GDPR.

Creative Industries Cluster Hubs is a multi-stakeholder project led by Cardiff University’s Centre for the Creative Economy. It works in partnership with local authorities across the Cardiff Capital Region to convene grassroots creative networks and activity.
