About "A Monmouthshire Miscellany of Lexicology"
Dr Mark Lewis (Senior Curator, National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon) will take a journey through some wordy legacies from our deep Roman past. There were no written word in Wales before the Roman army brought it here. We use the letters they brought us; we still use many of their words - just some of the things the Romans did for us.
This event is part of the first Newport Festival of Words taking place from the 20th - 23rd March. A celebration of words, from songwriting to storytelling, poetry to prose, and featuring local, national and international writers and performers.
